Dear Friend

There is always a price to pay for our successes. Life success is always dependent on an equation of want plus price! The want and its price may differ from person to person. What price do we have to pay to reach our success?

Many people know what they ‘want’, then why are they not successful? ‘Knowing’ alone may not be enough. Action or effort is required to materialize the wish. It’s a price one has to pay to realize one’s dreams.

The ‘steps’ to make the dream true is called ‘price’ in the success formula. Most people are either not aware of what price they need to pay or they are simply lazy – or they could have, other, very valid reasons, for not pursuing their dreams. Logic and rationale thinking basically support those reasons/excuses, and nobody can argue with them on those. Ever tried to argue with a person whose mind is made up, “You don’t understand my situation”, is a natural defensive response one would hear so commonly. Other common responses would be, “I want to but I cannot”, “I tried but it didn’t work”… the list goes on.

It amazes me to observe how many people go through frustration with their current state of affairs but do not even make an attempt to take any steps towards removing the causes of that frustration that takes life away from them. They are not even aware, what ‘steps’ they need to take to overcome their helplessness. Or even if they are aware, they have valid reasons (in their mind) that compel them not to take those ‘steps’. These ‘steps’ is what we are referring to ‘price’ here. What are some other names for ‘price’? Read More

8 Core Beliefs of Extraordinary Bosses

The best managers have a fundamentally different understanding of workplace, company, and team dynamics. See  what they get right. A few years back, I interviewed some of the most successful CEOs in the world in order to discover their management secrets. I learned that the “best of the best” tend to share the following eight core beliefs.

1. Business is an ecosystem, not a battlefield.
Average bosses see business as a conflict between companies, departments and groups. They build huge armies of “troops” to order about, demonize competitors as “enemies,” and treat customers as “territory” to be conquered. Extraordinary bosses see business as a symbiosis where the most diverse firm is most likely to survive and thrive. They naturally create teams that adapt easily to new markets and can quickly form partnerships with other companies, customers … and even competitors.

2. A company is a community, not a machine.
Average bosses consider their company to be a machine with employees as cogs. They create rigid structures with rigid rules and then try to maintain control by “pulling levers” and “steering the ship.”
Extraordinary bosses see their company as a collection of individual hopes and dreams, all connected to a higher purpose. They inspire employees to dedicate themselves to the success of their peers and therefore to the community–and company–at large. Read More

What Is Win-Win Negotiation?

Examine how poorly implemented win-win usually fails to deliver business goals and leaves gold on the table as a result

Ever heard someone say that they ‘gave away the farm’? Despite our best intentions, we sometimes negotiate too much value away to arrive at an agreement. Even when we go into our talks with high motivations and a grandiose, exuberant spirit of cooperation, we have to be wary and dip our toes cautiously into the waters to make sure we aren’t about to be devoured by a grinning and hungry shark. Today, many of us hear that win-win negotiations are all the rage. Academia has in more recent times married win-win to principled negotiation. Yet it is all too common that most negotiators fail to understand that this term represents our achieving a win-win negotiated settlement.

Yes, win-win negotiation is less about the process, less about the “how” of getting there, and more about the destination. That said, this article focuses on how best to get you a win-win outcome, whilst keeping your eyes fixed on the elusive win-win negotiation outcome or goal. We are careful to point out the contexts in which a win-win approach will lose you value in our negotiation training courses.

The Real Win-Win Negotiation Concept
The true meaning of a win-win negotiated settlement is where the agreement reached cannot be improved further by any discussions. So your outcome cannot be improved for your benefit, and similarly, the agreement for the other party cannot be improved further for their benefit either. Read More

Psyche’s Realm
How to Unlock Your Spiritual Psychic Abilities

According to observers and analysts of psychic phenomena, each one of us has some form of psychic ability, however only a few people are able to harness, and fully utilise these talents. If the individual has the will and determination to harness it, with the right training and mindset, the person will truly be able to enhance his or her psychic powers. Here are a number of helpful hints on how to unlock your spiritual psychic abilities.

Accept Your Abilities, And Direct Your Intuition

One of the first steps towards enhancing your spiritual psychic skills is by affirming, and accepting that you have one. The reason why more than 90 percent of us fail to unleash our psychic abilities is because we do not believe we have one, and we do not show any interest as well in enhancing it. However, if you truly accept and affirm that you are psychic, this will be the first step towards fully achieving your objectives.
Sharpen Your Meditation Skills
The next step in enhancing your psychic abilities, is by learning to meditate. Meditation offers a wide array of physical and psychological benefits. It helps ease stress, improves concentration and focus, and enables the individual to reach deeper into his subconscious, and sharpen his intuition. Meditation also strengthens the bond between mind, body and spirit, enabling the person to achieve awareness of psychic spirituality. Read More

Cross Cultural Awareness
Global Non-Verbal Signals – Sweden & Switzerland

  • To toast in Sweden, you lift your glass, make contact with everyone around the table, and say Skoal. Then, take a drink, make eye contact again and put your drink back down on the table. The host always makes the first toast.

  • Switzerland hosts a combination of French, Italian and German nationalities, thus, the cultural mores and gestures of each of these countries influence Swiss society. However, you should offer a firm handshake to whomever you are introduced to, including children.
  • Good posture is important in Switzerland. Do not slouch in your chair or stretch your legs out while sitting in
  • Do not litter in Switzerland. The Swiss take great pride in the tidiness of their environs, thus to litter is considered greatly rude.
