1.
Always set up contingency plans, "just in case." ("If for
some reason either of us is delayed, here’s what we’ll do.." Or,
"If we get split up in the shopping center, here’s where we’ll
meet.")
2. Relax your standards. The world will not end if the
grass doesn’t get mowed this weekend.
3. Pollyanna-Power! For every one thing that goes wrong,
there are probably 10 or 50 or 100 blessings. Count’em!

Dear Friends
Wishing you all a very promising 2006 ahead.
Before we step into 2006, the time has come for us to assess 2005. How
would you classify it? Was it a
success or a disappointment?
Please read the 2 paragraphs below after categorizing 2005 into a
success or a disappointment. Before you get disheartened let me clarify
that our disappointments teach us as much or more as do our successes.
Good luck with your SWOT analysis.
2005 – A Success
Questions to ask yourself….
Did the success happen just as a coincidence or were there factors
contributing towards its achievements?
What innovations did I bring about during 2005?
What personal disciplines contribute towards making 2005 a success?
What were the risks I took which turned out to be beneficial for me?
How did I optimize the human resources around me to achieve my
objectives?
Which
people did I help unconditionally – as a social / spiritual gift which
attributed towards giving me a sense of benevolence?
Which time management principle did I follow, which helped me spend more
time with my family?
2005 – A Disappointment !!!!
Questions to ask yourself….
Why do I classify it as a failure? What is my perception?
Did I spend the whole year exactly as the years before? (perhaps
that is in itself a defeating practice?
Did I maintain the balance between my personal & professional
life? Or was I swamped either by crisis at work or personal
problems at home?
Did I update my skills in any way? Number of trainings
attended? Number of books read?
Any personal discipline followed? If not, then what resolutions
had I set for myself and for how long did I maintain them?
How many goals did I achieve ?
Which are the goals I could not achieve & why?
What is the graph of my self-esteem? Can I look at myself in the
mirror?
Did I
work towards my positivity and spirituality to strengthen my
Aura?
Reflecting on these questions, will also unfold your future action plan
for 2006.
Wishing all our readers the discipline to take some important decisions
right at the beginning of the year. Discipline yourself to do what you
know you need to do to be the very best in your field.
As always look forward to your
suggestions / feedback
which helps the Intek team to continually improve this Ezine.

Idea of the month:
Leisure time
|
Most people think they deserve something if they worked hard for it,
or if they want it very badly, or if they have the money to buy it.
And often they use this "deserving" as a reason why someone else
should give them something.
However, the only relevant factor in "'deserving" something is being
able to appreciate it. if you can fully appreciate something, then
you deserve it
I don't deserve a big TV-even though I could buy it-because I don't
enjoy watching TV. Even if I bought it and saw it, I wouldn't really
have it, because it would mean nothing to me. That would truly be
casting "pearls before swine."
But if I can appreciate a painting, I deserve it because I respond
to it and find it beautiful. And because I can appreciate it, I can
truly have it fully, even when I can't buy it and own it.
If you want to deserve things, learn to appreciate them, and they
will be yours.

Case
of the month:
Selling with Empathy
|
How do you inform someone you're angry with him? E.g. because he didn't do
something you expected him to do?
Well, you could try it by putting your judgement on paper, or by using
profanity (such as "in stead of sitting lazy, …" or "you lying moron, you
promised to do … ").
Surprise, surprise, … research has shown that such behavior is not really
successful. It offends the receiver of the message and often the whole case
escalates and gets out of control. Other alternatives with the same effect
are known as character assassination: "While you have a constipation of the
brain, …" and as use of absolutes: "Can you never do something right?" ....

Goal Setting
Setting Goals for 2006
|
It doesn't seem possible that the holidays have passed, and it already
is time to decide what you want to accomplish in 2006. There are lots of
questions for you to consider, such as how many new clients you want to
serve, how much you want to earn, and how much time you want to spend
with your family. To answer these questions, you must create and write
out your goals. The word this year is "intentions," which is synonymous
with "goals." So, what are your intentions? Where do you want to be by
the end of 2006?
In this article, we'll discuss both personal and professional goals. We
all seem to have the same issues of a) not knowing what we want and b)
not having the time to write out our ideas and wishes. I encourage you
to take the time to complete this task. There are at least seven areas
for personal goals. I'm going to discuss them briefly, and add my own
ideas about goals for the AOM profession ....

Leadership
Seven Personal Qualities Found In A Good Leader
|
You are a leader if someone is following you. How often have you heard
the comment, “He or she is a born leader?” There are certain
characteristics found in some people that seem to naturally put them in
a position where they’re looked up to as a leader.
Whether in fact a person is born a leader or develops skills and
abilities to become a leader is open for debate. There are some clear
characteristics that are found in good leaders. These qualities can be
developed or may be naturally part of their personality. Let us explore
them further.
1. A good leader has an exemplary character. It is of utmost importance
that a leader is trustworthy to lead others. A leader needs to be
trusted and be known to live their life with honestly and integrity. A
good leader “walks the talk” and in doing so earns the right to have
responsibility for others. True authority is born from respect for the
good character and trustworthiness of the person who leads.

Self Development
Ten Tips To Increase Your Self-Confidence
|
Self-confidence
is an important key to success in any walk of life. People with
self-confidence are no ticed more. They achieve their goals relatively
easily. In contrast, people who lack self-confidence often end up being
losers. You too need to build your self-confidence if you want to do
well in life. Here are ten tips that can help you build that elusive
self-confidence:
-
Self-confidence is found in people who have a healthy self-esteem.
They know their personal worth, and act accordingly. A good way to
improve your personal worth is to make a list of your
accomplishments every day. You will be surprised to know how many
positive acts you perform every day in life, but which you don’t
notice. Once you start looking at this list, your self-confidence
will boom.

Don't let the Mistakes of Life Take You Out!
|
One of my favourite things I like to watch are
the bloopers and outtakes that are shown of mistakes made during the
making of a movie. Most DVD’s have a section of outtakes to be viewed,
and often they will set me off laughing, especially when you know what
was supposed to happen.
In one sense it seems strange to laugh at other people’s mistakes, and
yet we all do it, and our enjoyment is not usually of malicious intent.
We laugh because we can all relate and identify how much part of being
human such bloopers are!
We all make mistakes, and have many bloopers and outtakes in a lifetime.
Some of them may be funny like movie bloopers, a stupid mistake and we
are able to laugh at our selves. Other outtakes in life, however, are
not funny, and are neither unforeseen nor self imposed. I am referring
to the tragic turns of events that happen in life that can turn our life
and routine around in a moment. Accidents, disaster, the death of a
loved one happen unexpectedly, and can profoundly affect our lives.
These are outtakes we would prefer not to happen or even replayed in
life. Some of life’s outtakes have the potential to embarrass,
humiliate, hurt, or disappoint us and also can stop our hopes and dreams
forever...
