Vol 3 Issue 8

Dear Friends

Its strange how every morning, I put up a mask of a person that I am not, so that I can effectively fool others into thinking of me - differently. Wonderful as it may sound, it does not work!!! people can see through me like an empty Vessel ….

Yet I continue this contrivance day in and day out, feeling very happy with myself at having fooled others. Little do I know that I am just fooling myself. As my life continues I keep going deeper & deeper into this quagmire of low self esteem shrouded by a façade of confidence, while internally I suffer from lack of confidence, Insecurity , depression and unhappiness - all the stigmas attached to my low self-esteem.

If I don’t like myself how can I make others like me? If I don’t love myself, how can others love me?

It shouldn’t matter to me to crave the approval of others so that I start liking myself. I need to be at peace with myself. I should be able to look straight in the mirror, without shying away due to the nagging inner voice of disapproval. I should be scaring away all the demons of self- doubt giving way to a stream of positive signals. For once I can connect with my inner soul doing what is right, without the pressures of conformity or external appreciation

If I will not take responsibility of building my self esteem then who will. I am a living a life of deceit, fabricated by my robotic existence; until I realize that all the problems in my life are not external but internal.

Self Esteem has to do with all my thought processes regarding my achievements, My strengths & weaknesses, my social status – how others see me, my purpose in life, my place in the world, my future potentials etc. etc. just to name a few

“It is never too late to become what you might have been” Where do I start at rebuilding a new me? When in doubt take the difficult path. 1. Start with your fears and face them, they aren’t as bad as you think they are. Fears are like bullies, they fade away once you encounter them. 2. For once forgive yourself for all those failures. Look at them as stepping stones for future progress 3. Start dreaming as “the whole universe conspires to help you achieve it” 4. Talk to yourself, give yourself encouragement, motivate yourself, you owe it to yourself.

Wishing all our friends an exalted self esteem, may you all reach indescribable heights within the realm of self, to attain continuous success in life. Look forward to your
comments/ suggestions…. to help us improve ourselves

Idea of the Month: Commit Yourself

The moment you commit and quit holding back, all sorts of unforeseen incidents, meetings and material assistance will rise up to help you. The simple act of commitment is a powerful magnet for help!

Case of the Month: Ecology Check

No, this is not becoming a "green magazine". With ecology, we mean "making sure that our actions do not cause harm to other persons." To some extent, this type of ecology is regulated by legislation, e.g. in the areas of "stalking", "sexual harassment" and "date rape" to take some delicate issues. The question taken into consideration is the following one:

Can you "love so much that it becomes dangerous for the other"?...

 Strategic Visioning  (article)

Imagine That
The process of developing a vivid picture of the future is an important step in creating a future that is better than today. A clear, motivating image can inspire us to reach higher and overcome challenges. Once created, a vision will begin to impact today as a foundation for new decisions.

While all that sounds great, crafting a meaningful vision of the future isn't always that simple! A blank piece of paper can be daunting whether you are an artist, a writer, a programmer, or a CEO. If your natural inclination is to skip 'the vision' and ...

Delegation  -  How to Cure "Delegation Deficiency"  (article)

Is it hard for you to hand off projects and responsibilities? It’s time to put aside your ego, identify what type of "delegation-deficient" manager you are, accept some advice about how to cure this condition - and then take a vacation.

Brad had a managerial condition known informally as "delegation deficiency." As a recently appointed manager of an accounts payable department, Brad knew every function backward and forward, earning himself a reputation as the resident "guru." That worked to his disadvantage once he....

Intuition: The Spark That Fuels Vision (article)

What makes a company owner risk everything to go against both "the numbers" and the recommendations of trusted advisors? Why does a manager put a career on the line by pushing decisions that flout the accepted wisdom? And what is the true origin of "hare-brained" ideas that end up making history in an organization?

Many people consider hunches or gut feelings to be true indications of what is right, even if the facts say otherwise. In an interview, Richard DeVos, co-founder of Amway Corporation, emphasized the inhibiting effect of operating strictly by the numbers. In his view, total reliance on facts limits the adventurous spirit that's crucial to the process of innovation and discovery. DeVos thinks that facts will tell you to do ...

 Getting Value From Training
Get Some ROI (Return On Investment)  (article)

All too often, potential benefits from training seminars are lost because the supports required for the application of learning are absent. And let's face it -- nobody can afford to send people for training just for the fun of it. We all expect that training will somehow impact upon a person's present or future ability to contribute to the employing organization. How do we "make it so"?
