Dear Friends!
The delicate balance of our personal and professional lives is perpetually susceptible to unbalance. No matter how hard we try to achieve that fabled equilibrium, still we fail miserably.

“No man is born an island entire of itself” we are all linked to a never ending chain of humanity - ever effecting lives of others at various levels of existence.

The monster we nurture in the office will eventually come back to damage the home. Our behaviors also fluctuate between office and the home, it is tragic that we portray impeccable manners to those who do not matter in our lives and show the worst temperament to our loved one.

How can we even think of living two lives when the main character in both the scenarios is the same. Who are we fooling if not ourselves? This goes on to prove what Gandhi said about both aspects of our lives, we are either good in both or no good, there are no grey area. If we are feeling dissatisfaction in either, it is a trickle effect from the other.
In this juggling act between professional and personal life, we need to question our priorities constantly.

There is no universal rule to it but we know for sure, at our death beds we will not be regretting at how fewer hours we spent in the office……

Wishing all our friends the wisdom to prioritize in life. As always, look forward to your comments/ suggestions.

Idea of the Month: your WOW-project

Are you working on something you really feel worth doing? Think about the following:

"Projects … are all about emotion. So, when it comes to recognizing a project that matters to you, trust your emotions. Listen to your stomach and to your heart. They'll tell you"

Case of the Month: Selling with Empathy

Want to sell something? Look at it from a buyer point of view! This week, I got an example of a door to door salesman who lacked this skill completely.

Suppose you have to someone the sell aerial photographs you took from his house, how would you do it? What the guy tried was giving me a compliment for my nice garden and the good work done by the garden architect. My first reaction was: "Hey, I want compliments for MY work and besides, the grass field looks awful on that picture."

First lesson of selling with empathy make sure you get a grasp of ...

Creativity Techniques (article)

Finding the solution to a problem or need that is cost effective and good enough for the purpose requires creativity of the highest order. No person should be an island in creativity exercises as each one of us has different levels of creativity, as well as ideas. Starting on the creative problem-solving journey requires as many ideas as possible so that the solution arrived at is the best available solution.

There are techniques that will make the journey to the eureka stage and beyond much more efficient, effective and quick. Use any one of them or in combination for best results.

1.  Brain Storming

The purpose of brainstorming is to get as many ideas as possible from a group of people in the shortest possible time. Quantity and not quality is the order of the day. It does not matter if the ideas are thought to be unworkable, or crazy, or outlandish by anybody within the group. Sometimes these ideas are the very ones that ...

Decision Making  (article)

Ever had one of those decisions that no matter what you did, you just could not decide what to do?  I've also witnessed friends and clients go through impossible decisions and seen what agony, confusion, and frustration they can cause.
There are many different ideas and theories about how to make GOOD decisions. You can weigh the pros and cons, make your decision that way. Or you can follow your logic, or your heart, depending on which idea you are using. No matter what theory you use, there is one underlying agreement; you have to make the decision on your own.

People act differently when making big decisions. One always I myself like to get the opinion of everyone I trust, however I have usually already made my decision and just like to see what everyone else thinks I'll do. I have friends who are opposite of me, in fact, I would not even know they were making a big decision until they told me the results. They like to take time to think of it by themselves and make the decision without anyone else's input. Neither way is wrong or right, just different.  ...

Motivation (article)

Moving beyond your comfort Zone

Many professionals have attained a high level of competence in their particular fields.  They have learned a lot in their careers and they have a good sense of what works and what doesn’t.  Some individuals have become so good at what they do that they can successfully perform their jobs “with their eyes closed.”  These people are operating within their comfort zones.

While operating within your comfort zone is safe, it does not give you the opportunity to grow in your career.  You may be good at what you do, but if you continue to do things in the same way, your job may have a tendency to be boring.  It may no longer offer you a challenge.  Only by trying new things can you get your creative juices flowing and experience the thrill of reaching new heights of achievement.

Trying new things does entail some risks.  When you try something new you may experience a sense of discomfort.  This comes from not being completely sure of ...

Opportunity in Crisis - Einstein  (article)

In the Chinese language, the symbol representing crisis is a combination of the figures for danger and opportunity. The Chinese understand these two situations as one and the same. Because of the recent events and the media's interpretation of these events, business owners are apt to only address one facet of this symbol - the danger. The interpretation becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
I am not saying that the Dow has not dropped. I am not saying that the future is stable. What I am saying is that there is a choice, not around the events (what is, is) but around your response to the events. Ironically, in this regard, there is no difference between ....
