Dear
Friends!
Wishing all our
Muslims readers a very happy Eid. "Gong Xi Fa Cai" Happy new year
to our Chinese friends, and a very happy Valentine's day .
Life is a quaint
collection of choices we have made in our past; these choices have led us
to our current predicament. The choices we made in our learning years are
now assisting us professionally, The small seemingly insignificant choices
of eating well and exercising are now an asset in our current life. Every
second of our lives is paving the way towards our future, whatever choices
we make henceforth will ensure our success or failure. As so eloquently
put by Stephen Covey "The best way to predict the future is to create it"
- the power lies within us . Wishing all our readers the wisdom to make
the right decisions in life.
Look forward to your
comments/ suggestions.

Idea of the
Month: Deserving |
Most people
think they deserve something if they worked hard for it, or if they want it
very badly, or if they have the money to buy it. And often they use this
"deserving" as a reason why someone else should give them something
However, the only relevant factor in "'deserving" something is being able to
appreciate it. if you can fully appreciate something, then you deserve it
I don't deserve a big TV-even though I could buy it-because I don't enjoy
watching TV. Even if I bought it and saw it, I wouldn't really have
it, because it would mean nothing to me. That would truly be casting "pearls
before swine."
But if I can appreciate a painting, I deserve it because I respond to it and
find it beautiful. And because I can appreciate it, I can truly have it
fully, even when I can't buy it and own it.
If you want to deserve things, learn to appreciate them, and they will be
yours.

Case of the Month: Employee Initiative |
This case comes from
the coaching & leadership training + some employee interviews I have been
conducting over the last weeks. Depending on the side you are on, you'll
hear two typical complaints in companies:
- The manager:
"My people don't see the work, they don't take initiative"
- What's the
difference between "having idea's" and "taking initiative"?
Not much from a
structural point of view. The biggest differences are the contents (what
topic is the idea on / what topic did you expect initiative on) and ...

7 Keys to Building Great Work Teams
Fostering teamwork is a top priority for many leaders. The benefits
are clear: increased productivity, improved customer service, more flexible systems, employee empowerment. But is the vision clear? To
effectively implement teams, leaders need a clear picture of the
seven elements high-performance teams have in common.
1. COMMITMENT
Commitment to the purpose and values of an organization provides a
clear sense of direction. Team members understand how their work
fits into corporate objectives and they agree that their team's
goals are achievable and aligned with corporate mission and values.
Commitment is the foundation for .......

Perception is like beauty,
in that it lies "in the eye of the beholder"
Perception can be defined as a process by which individuals organize
and interpret their sensory impressions in order to give meaning to
their environment. However, as we have noted, what one perceives can
be substantially different from objective reality. It need not be,
but there is.......

GOALS
The Power Line to Success and Achievement
WHY DO WE NEED
GOALS?
Goals give you direction in all areas of your life Personal, Career,
Spiritual, Material, and Contribution. Goals give you a purpose in
life. A reason to get up early in the morning and go to bed late at
night. Goals will put drive and passion into your life.
Not having goals is similar to
sailing a ship across the Atlantic without a map. Goals, like maps,
help you get to your destination much faster than sailing though
life aimlessly.
HOW DO I SET
GOALS?
First you must ........

Practicing Intuition (article) |
So you think your intuitive?
I Do!
You don’t think you’re intuitive?
I still do. or....
Almost all of us have had some experience with intuition, such as; getting
a gut feeling about someone you’ve met, knowing who’s calling on the phone
before you pick it up, a deja vu experience, knowing something someone
is about to say, or even knowing what’s in a gift before you open
it. These kinds of experiences, though fairly common, seem to happen
spontaneously and at random leaving us ....
