Dear
Friends
Ever wonder what actually makes us
happy? How many times have we found people saying, "If I only had
more money, I'd be happy." or "If I only had a better job, I'd be
happy." or "If only” the infinite list of “if onlys”
The process of unhappiness include
social comparison - how people compare themselves to peers,
dissonance reduction - how people justify both trivial and important
choices in their lives, self-evaluation - how people judge
themselves, and personal - perception how people think about others.
Truly happy individuals construe life events and daily situations in
ways that seem to maintain their happiness, while unhappy
individuals construe experiences in ways that seem to reinforce
unhappiness.
When we believe in ourselves,
when we have a purpose in life, when we finally realize that others
are not responsible for making us happy, and when we take charge of
our own feelings and attitude, only then we can attain happiness.
Happiness always comes from within; no amount of external factors
can catalyze joy for us.
If you are still not sure what
makes you happy, play along with me and imagine if you had only 24
hours to live how would you spend them? That should give you the
answer as to what you actually value in life.
Find more reasons to be happy,
be selfish in this regard, in fact be a source of joy and warmth for
others as this in itself brings great spiritual satisfaction. Be at
peace with yourself. Wishing all our readers a happy month, a happy
year and a very happy life.
Look forward to your
Suggestions and feedback.

E-COMMUNICATION
(article) |
How Can
Email Communication Affect Your Business?
Email is now one of the fastest ways to gain or lose potential
customers because of it's ability to deliver information fast to
an enormous amount of people. After sending an email you are no
longer in control of the affects of the message and can only wait
in suspense.
An employee of
your company started off his/her day in a bad mood. A potential
customer emails them with a trivial question and they reply with a
brash tone. Do you think that the recipient will use your company.
On the Internet word travels fast. It takes me 3 minutes to send
email to 50-100 people. Therefore your company can lose 100 current
or potential customers with the brash email sent out by your
employee. This can happen in a matter of minutes.

Handling
Criticism With Honesty & Grace
Perhaps one of the most vulnerable of moments
is when someone criticizes you, especially if that person knows
you well. The scalpel of her comments can be surgically rapid and
close to the bone, more damaging than the rubber hammer of a
stranger's passing slight. Yet, as the old saying goes, "What
doesn't kill us will make us stronger."
People are most revealing when
offering praise or criticism. Praise indicates what they most
like about themselves and criticism often shows what they least
like or feel least competent about in themselves. So criticism
is actually a two-way mirror.

EFFECTIVE
LISTENING
(article) |
Deep Listening:
How it can make a difference for you
|
Common understanding decrees that hearing and listening are two
different activities and abilities. Hearing requires functioning ears.
Listening, on the other hand, requires comprehension, minimal distraction
and a release from your opinions while the other person(s) is speaking.
And then there’s deep listening.
Deep listening can take many forms. When speaking with someone who is
listening deeply, you may feel as if you are the only person in the world.
The listener gives you the impression that she is completely rapt by your
words and thoughts.

Your Body Speaks Volume, But Do You
Know What it is Saying?
Just the other day a sales person told me she would do
whatever it took to make me happy and that really ticked me off!
Why would that be? Shouldn’t I be thrilled that she was offering
to do whatever it took to make me happy? No, because the words
didn’t match her body language. As she was telling me she would do
whatever it took to make me happy, she had her hands on her hips,
her legs spread apart and was looking down at me. It really came
off as, “you really are being a pain lady so what does it take to
get rid of you?” This salesperson will probably not realize why
she lost a customer. Always remember that a person will listen
more to your body language than to your words spoken!
