Dear
Friends,
Wishing
all our readers a happy spring, which already exhibits the promise of
an active & productive summer. For all our readers who are still in
deep snow, remember to search for sunshine within the realms of your
own positivities.
We are certain that the proactive person within you is already
striving to reach his/her goals. Remember if the goal is the
big mountain, small hurdles do not become stop signs for the dynamic
soul.
We are thankful to the readers for their productive emails which
have helped us to further improve our quality. Your
feedback / comments / questions / critique
are always welcome.
Good luck with your inner growth & self development.

Balancing
Professional & Familial Obligations
We
all wish that we had more time. Life is so
stressful these days. Things can be especially
difficult
if you haven’t been able to swing that alternative work arrangement job
that you’ve
been dreaming of.
If you are spending 50 or so hours away from
your home per week you
need to find life balance
by finding ways to decrease your stress or at
least
find some ways to live with it! And the motto here
is, “just do
the best that you can!”

NEGOTIATION SKILLS
(article) |
Negotiation
Tactics from Ancient China
In Contrast to The Art of War and The Way of Power, the time-honored
Thirty-Six Stratagems were authored not by a single genius, but rather
by untold members of military leaders and tacticians, politicians,
merchants, philosophers, writers, and even ordinary people.
Stratagems when Commanding Superiority:
1. Cross the sea by fooling the sky.
People tend to ignore the familiar. This stratagem suggests that
trying to impress others with an unending streams of ideas,
proposals, and projects will accomplish little; whereas carefully
chosen, well-timed moves will have more dramatic impact and greater
chances of success.

EFFECTIVE
LISTENING
(article) |
The Importance of Listening in
Interpersonal Skills
Do you
listen correctly, carefully, adequately, intelligently, unassumingly,
quietly and effectively?
If you want to be a good listener you have to
cultivate the habit of effective listening.
Those
who are good at communication know the importance of listening, which is
perhaps more important than even speaking.
It is
not an exaggeration to say that relationships
thrive more on listening
skills than on speaking skills.
A good speaker may sometimes find
himself
unwanted in a group, but rarely a good listener.

STRESS
MANAGEMENT (article) |
Five Stress Zones
Stress causes our muscles to tighten. Slouching
creates unattractive posture along with sore back,
neck, and shoulder muscles. The combination of
stress, muscle tension, and poor posture may
create chronic illness. Sitting upright, rigid, and
tense is not proper posture. For proper or neutral
posture, you must align your body and place your
muscles in balance with each other.
Areas of stress, tension, and chronically tight
muscles lead to local inflammation and irritation.
The inflammation, in turn, causes physical damage
to the muscles, which can eventually heal with scar
tissue.
