Dear
Friends,
Thank
you for your letters of encouragement, they bring a new surge of
enthusiasm to the Intek Family.
Its mid
year and we wonder where time has flown. A perfect time for
reflection in retrospect as to what we have gained so far in 2002.
What new skills have we acquired? What innovation have we brought
about at our work? How have we improved in our personal
relationships? How much time have we given towards spiritual growth?
From
time to time, we have to conduct a self appraisal to gauge our progress in life.
Wishing all our readers a progressive year.
We look forward to your feedback and suggestions.

Great Tips for Success and
Happiness
1. Never tell a
person that his opinion is wrong. Show respect for the opinions and
convictions of others.
2. Don't entangle yourself in an argument.
You may sometime win an argument but lose a friend or customer. By avoiding
an argument you have little to lose.
3. If your mistake or error of judgment
comes to light admit it quickly and graciously.
4. Greet people with a broad smile and warm
handshake. But be careful, many ladies do not like to shake hands with men.
However, practically every woman feels pleased with a compliment.

Self Esteem: The Problem Behind All Problems
Self esteem is THE major challenge of our era. It lies
at the heart of many of the diverse issues and challenges we face in life.
In fact, it is precisely because low self esteem does not seem to be
the problem, that it is so very insidious. Many people who suffer
from low self esteem attribute their life challenges to wholly
different causes.

NEGOTIATION SKILLS

The Niceties of Negotiation
Negotiating seems to bring out the best and the
worst in people. Unless you create a win-win negotiating situation,
everyone loses eventually. If you win
and your customer loses, you will lose that customer. If your customer
wins and you lose, you can go out of business. Win-win is the only
way! So what are the niceties in the nuances of negotiating? Here are
some of the most commonly asked questions and answers.
1. So much of the way people behave in
negotiations causes anger, bitterness, hostility, antagonism. What are
some of the behaviors that undermine people when they
negotiate? The most common ploy is to overpower or
intimidate the opposition through a variety of dirty tricks. But that leaves
one side feeling used and abused, and as you said hostile, bitter, and
angry.

POSITIVE
THINKING (article) |
Think positive:
When a person thinks a
negative thought and tries to get rid of it, that person is thinking positively
negatively. Some people have conducted a long string of experiments that
show the futility and actual danger of trying to get rid of thoughts.
In some of the
experiments, some people have said, "Try not to think about a white bear."
The subjects were then asked to say aloud everything that came to mind. Of
course, thoughts of white bears showed up quite a bit. Trying not to think
of a white bear produced a thought of a white bear between six and fifteen
times in a five-minute period.
