Dear
Friends,
Happiness is in enjoying the little things in life. Grabbing every
opportunity to laugh, as laughter releases endorphins – a hormone in
our body, which acts as an anti-stressor and a relaxant.
Helping others is also a great source of satisfaction, contentment
and happiness.
Having
faith, perseverance and courage in adverse circumstances strengthens
our soul. As Rumi said “Don’t grieve for what doesn’t come, something
that don’t happen keep disasters from happening”, but we do not
realize it until years later when we laugh in retrospect at the
miseries which happen in life which actually shaped our destinies
for the better.
Wishing all our readers, the determination to face up all problems in
life as if they were exhilarating challenges and thinking to
themselves “What will it take to stop me?” Good luck.
Look forward to hearing your
comments/suggestions/feedback.

Signs and Quotes that
Motivate!
In good old days people
used to hang at the place of work, the pictures of Jesus and Mary, kings and
queen or their national leaders and heroes. Many Muslims hang the picture of Holy
Mosques, calligraphy of holy verses, sayings of the Holy Prophets and his
companions for good omen.
Hindus in India also believe that hanging picture of
Mythological personalities and Gods help in promoting business. During Stalin regime in Soviet
Union, it was a sort of mandatory to have a picture of Stalin and
Lenin, whereas in China Mao's pictures and his sayings used to be placed
everywhere.

LISTENING
SKILLS

5 Tips for
Listening Well
|
Calvin Coolidge once said, “No
man ever listened himself out of a job.” You certainly know people
have talked themselves out of work, and perhaps some have missed
opportunities because they weren’t listening closely enough. Don’t
let this happen to you. Refine your listening skills with these five
tips.
1. Be Prepared. Be mentally and physically ready to listen. Prep
yourself by reading appropriate material and doing research before
meetings. Don’t show up only to find yourself lost after the first
five minutes, and then scramble mentally to catch up or just zone
out because you’re lost.

TIME MANAGEMENT
(article) |
Personal Time Management for Busy
Managers
|
What is Personal Time Management?
Personal Time Management is about controlling the use of your most valuable
(and undervalued) resource. Consider these two questions: what would happen if
you spent company money with as few safeguards as you spend company time, when
was the last time you scheduled a review of your time allocation?
The absence of Personal Time Management is characterized by last minute
rushes to meet dead-lines, meetings which are either double booked or achieve
nothing, days which seem somehow to slip unproductively by, crises which loom
unexpected from nowhere. This sort of environment leads to inordinate stress and
degradation of performance: it must be stopped.

GENDER
COMMUNICATION (article) |
6 Tips on Gender Relations in the
Business Arena
|
Business etiquette is based on hierarchy and power unlike social
etiquette which is based on gender and chivalry. No-one should be given
special treatment in the business arena because of gender. Everyone should
be treated equally well.
. The most important person in the
hierarchy
of any company is the client.
2. Persons of lesser importance are introduced
to persons of greater
importance, regardless
of gender. The name of the most important
person
is said first.
